Web9 mei 2011 · Had an object that was made in SketchUp, imported into Max. The smoothing groups were non-existent. I tried Reset Xform, Auto Smooth, Turbosmooth, attach to a new object. All my standard solutions would not work. First time I have had to used the Edit Normals>Reset. However, you have two better ways of scaling up the original geometry. 1: scale at sub-object level 2: bind to dummy and scale the dummy as a controller.
